    About Annual Turnaround Awards:

The Turnaround Awards honors achievements of firms and professionals in the distressed M&A transactions and investing; restructuring and reorganizations efforts; and contributions made by the specialist service providers. The Awards recognizes professional firms, investors, and consultants whose activities set the standard for the industry and enhance economic growth.

Following in the tradition of The M&A Advisor awards programs, the Turnaround Awards is an independently judged competition. Any industry participant is able to submit nominations in one or several of the award categories on behalf of their clients, their peers from the industry, and/or on behalf of their organization and colleagues.

Finalists from among the Turnaround Award nominees are announced on January 28, 2008.
Winners are revealed during the Turnaround Awards Gala on February 25, 2008, held at the Colony Hotel, Palm Beach, Florida. WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT AT THE GALA to RECEIVE THEIR AWARDS.

We encourage you to submit your nominations and wish you the very best

 Nomination Process and Criteria:

  • The forms must be submitted prior to the deadline of January 21, 2008 for consideration. You may nominate yourself or someone else, and enter nominations in as many awards categories as applicable.

  • The deal/transactions nominations must stem from the previous calendar year—which became effective or closed in the 12 months ending on December 31, 2007.

  • Subject companies must have annual sales of at least $10 million (U.S.). Transactions must be valued at no less than $10 million (U.S.) and not more than $1 billion (U.S.).
  • The information must be submitted as requested. You will be asked to identify the company or companies involved in the transaction(s), name your deal team, and provide basic information about the company or companies and about your own firm. You will be asked to provide professional references.  FAILIURE TO SUBMIT THE REQUIRED INFORMATION IN THE FORMS WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. Exceeding the indicated level of word count will lead to exclusion.

  • Only one nomination form can be used for submission per award category. A nominee can enter nominations for as many awards categories as applicable.
  • Forms must be submitted in type-written format.
  • Forms must be sent via e-mail to: turnaroundawards@maadvisor.com

  • The M&A Advisor reserves the right to re-nominate submissions for additional awards or re-categorize submissions. The M&A Advisor and/or the Judges reserve the right to preclude a category of award based on quality of submissions for that award category.

   Selection and the Judging Process:

The submitted nomination forms are verified for authenticity. The finalists are selected from among the qualified award nominees.

Winners of the Awards are selected by an independent panel of judges. The judging process does not factor in nomination history, meaning candidacies are evaluated without prejudice in regard to who filed entries.

Judges are enlisted from the ranks of experienced industry professionals encompassing financial professionals, academics, journalists, consultants and service providers. Judges do not have any financial or business affiliation with The M&A Advisor organization.

Criteria for judging are based on several factors including quantitative factors such as transaction value, impact on shareholder value, market share, etc. Subjective considerations include impact of transaction on the market and community, ingenuity in structuring and/or negotiations, diligence and perseverance in consummating the deal, among other striking attributes.

Privacy Protection Statement
All information submitted in the OFFICIAL NOMINATION FORMS is treated with utmost regard for confidentiality. Nomination forms are maintained in a secure setting, seen only by select M&A staff and the judges, all of whom have signed non-disclosure agreements.
